The number 10 for the two seasons this shirt was worn was used by a number of players. Ormondroyd, Lowe, Joachim, Lewis, Agnew, Oldfield and Ewan Roberts. There are some right rum charachters in there. Ormondroyd, who just didn't look like a footballer, Joachim who was built like a buffalo and could beat any of the players at arm wrestling at the age of seventeen, Neil Lewis who disappeared quite quickly from the game with no reason given, and the toothless Welshman Ewan Roberts.
Quite a colourful shirt is you take the charachters that used to wear it. Joachim had the most initial impact. I used to watch him in the Youth team and knew he was a cut above anyone else. Just not sure why he never really improved after a great start to his career. Ewan Roberts will be well remembered as a proper centre forward, toothless, hard, good scorer of goals and a fans favourite. And he scored a hat trick against Derby so he will always be remembered fondly.
These shirts are hard to find as they were never swapped at the end of matches. The badges are embroidered whereas they were transfers on the replicas.
Some of the shirts used had sewn on Nationwide badges, however there were many times that the embroidered version was used.
