| I have been looking for one of these for many many years. I have kept all my replica shirts since I was a kid, apart from this one, which was my first ever Leicester shirt.
To get the players version is virtually impossible, as the kitman adapted the shirts the following season, and they were used as a training kit for the players.
So basically, all the players shirts ended up as training kit, until they were worn out, then binned.
So how the hell are you ever going to get a players shirt of this style? |
| Got an email from a guy one day, by the name of Tom Kilkelly. Tom played for Leicester in the early seventies, many youth team and reserves, but played in Graham Cross's testimonial, and more importantly the third place play off in the 1974 FA Cup, when we beat Burnley.
I couldn't believe it, Tom asked me if I wanted the shirt as a gift, which he obtained from the Leicester kitman while he was at the club. Tom sent it over, and in addition gave me a call from Australia telling me all the stories from his days at Leicester. |
| The shirt is amazing, but to get all the information about it, and also the stories of the day was great, and I am so very grateful for such a kind gesture.
This shirt has avoided me for years, then I get one in these circumstances. Thank you very much Tom. |
| The shirt is a squad shirt, so would have been worn in pre-season and testimonials.
It is in amazing condition, the pictures I have taken do not do it justice.
Rich royal blue cotton, sewn number and the embroidered badge with the two button design.
I think I will give up collecting now, I don't think it can get better than this. |
